Patch Placement Guide

A well-placed patch looks intentional; a badly placed one ruins an expensive garment. These offsets come from fitting hundreds of club and uniform orders.

Sleeve placement — centred between shoulder seam and elbow

The standard placements

  • Left chest: centre the patch on the pocket line, roughly 150mm down from the shoulder seam.
  • Sleeve: centred between shoulder seam and elbow, 50–75mm below the seam — the classic unit-crest position.
  • Back: centred horizontally, top edge 50–75mm below the collar.
  • Cap: centred on the front panel, clearing the centre seam by at least 5mm each side.
  • Hi-viz: above or below reflective bands, never overlapping — stitching through retroreflective tape can affect certification.

Common questions

Left is the uniform convention (over the heart, mirroring medal placement). Right chest is common for company logos opposite a left-chest name.

For bulk uniform programmes we can arrange application through our alterations partners — ask when requesting a bulk quote.
