Illustrative guide ranges for a typical 75mm design with up to 6 colours, sew-on backing, excluding VAT and delivery. All constructions start at our 10-piece minimum — PVC unit prices fall especially steeply with quantity because the mould cost amortises away. Final pricing is confirmed after artwork review — this table is a planning aid, not a quotation.
The 10-piece standard
Why our minimum is 10 pieces — and why that's good news
"No minimum" is this market's favourite headline. Ours is ten — stated up front, for three honest reasons:
01
Setup is real work
Digitising, hooping, thread-up and the first-article check take the same time for one patch as for ten. Below ten pieces you'd be paying for that entire setup on a single unit — so we don't sell it that way.
02
Honest unit pricing
Suppliers running genuine one-offs either inflate the piece price dramatically or cut the setup short. Our 10-piece floor means every number in our tables is a real production price, not a teaser.
03
Your proof is the run
At ten pieces, the first article off the line is part of your order, not a costly throwaway prototype — and every QC check applies to the batch you actually receive.
Planning something bigger? Pre-production samples can be scheduled against a bulk order, with cost and lead time confirmed on your quote. Why minimums matter when choosing a maker.

The seven price factors
- 01
Quantity
The biggest lever. Setup and digitising amortise away as the run grows — the gap between 10 and 1,000 pieces is roughly 74%.
- 02
Size
Price bands follow the average of width and height. Each step up adds roughly 15–20% as stitch count and fabric grow together.
- 03
Construction
Printed is the budget floor; leather and chenille are the premium ceiling; embroidered sits in between and earns it.
- 04
Colours
Each thread colour is a real cost driver up to eight; beyond that the effect is small. Printed has no colour limit at all.
- 05
Backing & extras
Sew-on is free. Heat-seal adds ~15p, adhesive ~35p, hook & loop ~45p. Loop panels and polybag packing are quoted per job.
- 06
Turnaround
Standard runs are delivered within 14 working days of proof approval. The rush lane (5–7 days) adds around 25% when capacity allows.
- 07
Personalisation
Stitching individual names or numbers per piece adds ~40p each. The setup is digitised once, so a squad list of ten different names is one 10-piece run.
Digitising, explained
Digitising is the conversion of artwork into stitch instructions — paths, direction, density, underlay — and it's skilled bench time, typically an hour or more per design. That's why it appears as a one-off fee (usually around £20) on small orders and disappears on runs of 100+, where the cost amortises into the batch.
Your digitised file stays on our server against the job ticket. Reorders — even months later — run straight back onto the line with no setup charge.
Reorder economics: a second run of 250 crests costs roughly what 500 first-timers cost — no digitising, no proofing delay.
