Patch type
Personalised Embroidered Patches
The classic construction — thread stitched into twill, with the raised texture that makes a crest look earned rather than printed. Our most ordered patch, and the one we hold to the strictest standard.

Why embroidery carries the authority
Embroidery is the default for a reason: the raised stitch catches light, holds colour under UV and abrasion, and survives industrial laundering when sewn on. Unit crests, club badges, school emblems, brand logos — if it needs to look like it belongs on a uniform, it's probably embroidered.
Every design is digitised in-house: stitch direction, density and underlay are set by a person who will be answerable for the stitch-out, not by an auto-converter. That step is the difference between a patch that lies flat and one that puckers.
What embroiders well — and what doesn't
- Bold shapes, crests, lettering at 5mm+ cap height, 2–8 colours of thread.
- Gradients and photographic detail do not translate — we'll suggest simplification or a woven/printed alternative before you pay.
- Very fine lines under 0.8mm merge; merrowed borders suit simple outlines, laser-cut suits intricate shapes.

Common questions
We keep lettering at 5mm cap height or above for legibility. Below that, stitches crowd and letters blur — if your design needs smaller type, woven is the better construction.
Merrowed overlock is the classic raised edge for round, oval and shield shapes. Laser-cut gives crisp complex outlines (stars, animals, crests with cut-outs) with a sealed edge.
